			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Talent Intelligence solutions providers Taleo regularly conduct research to analyse the best practices and economics of talent management. They recently commissioned a comprehensive survey amongst 500 HR decision makers in large UK companies about their current attitudes and approaches to their critical talent pipelines.</p>
<p>Respondents were asked: ‘<strong>Which critical roles are most difficult to fill?</strong>’ and the top answer was <strong>Technical and IT Professionals</strong>, coming far ahead of the second response (Finance &amp; Legal Professionals).</p>
<p>Taleo commented on the results: “The difficulty of filling critical technical/ IT roles is perhaps not surprising in an increasingly technology driven environment, where innovations are crucial in driving companies growth and efficiency. It is also to be expected that while a company’s technology expectation grows, the required skill of technical/ IT workers also changes.”</p>

<td>Working for a leading Engineering development company, our client has a vacancy for an Assistant Plant Engineer-Mechanical to work in the Maintenance department.Reporting to the Head of Maintenance, the successful candidate will coordinate work activities for the Fitters, Builder, Carpenter, and General Assistant to support existing and future company infrastructure, in what is definitely hands-on role.Key functions of the role include:- Identify and co-ordinate work activities for direct subordinates and contractors<br />
- Oversee PPM, risk assessment and method statements and general health &amp; safety<br />
- Organise and monitor statutory inspections such as Legionella systems, Fire extinguishers, pressure systems, waste removal, compressor and boiler maintenance<br />
- Specify installations and repair of heating, compressed air and water services.<br />
- Support on call system.<br />
- Carry out staff appraisals.<br />
- Liaise with customers, contractors and colleagues to ensure the safe and efficient running of infrastructureTo apply for this role you will need the following skills and experience:- City &amp; Guilds in Mechanical Installation and Maintenance of Industrial services.<br />
- IOSH or similar, some form of management certification aligned to the role.<br />
- Experience and knowledge of industrial heating and plumbing systems, compressed air systems, heating and cooling of industrial plant, legionella systems, health &amp; safety<br />
- Experience in the supervision of staff.The role will require participation in an on call system, there is also the possibility of overtime and providing out of hours support.</td>
