My client is one of Europe’s leading industrial service partners providing engineering knowledge and expertise.
With over 200 service centres nationwide they continue grow: this has lead to an opening for a Senior HSEQ Engineer in their Gasket Technology division.
They has strategic plans for further expansion and we are committed to developing and nurturing talent and the future workforce.
They currently seek to recruit a Senior HSEQ Engineer for their Sealing and Polymer division in Barnsley.
This is a key role with prime responsibility to merge, maintain and further develop the division and be responsible for the HS&E as required by the national HSEQ systems and provide line side support to the gaskets manufacturing operation.
What the role involves:
• Maintain merge and develop the Sealing and Gasket Technology QMS to meet the requirements of ISO9001:2015.
• To obtain a good understanding within a short period of time the HSEQ management systems.
• Provide assistance with any quality issues line side at the gaskets manufacturing location.
• Implement and roll out the ISO18001 (Soon to be ISO45001) Occupational Health and Safety Management system within the division.
• Interfacing with local Management and HSEQ Management/External customers, audit bodies in the completion and closure of audit reports.
• Maintaining held British and International Standards.
• Monitor performance through gathering of relevant data, analysis and production of statistical data.
• Full understanding of APQP activities and PPAP submissions.
• Work in a team to produce Process flow, PFMEA’s & Control Plans.
• Work closely with the customer / supplier base to resolve non-conformances in a timely manner.
• Maintaining held British and International Standards.
• Raise Internal Quality Alerts and issue to the relevant internal department.
• Interpreting customer product quality requirements and communicating internally using structured processes.
About You
• Professional know-how of management systems ISO9001 / ISOTS16949 & 18001.
• Professional know-how of all APQP activities.
• Minimum 5 Years’ experience to become fully proficient in the role.
• Capability to understand twin business model and align strategy with the assigned customers.
• Sales and customer relationship development skills.
• Communication and inter-personal skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively both internally and externally.
• Ability to prepare and deliver management information within required deadlines.
• Where change is recommended to customers, ability to assist with the change management process.
• Ability to work with Direct Reports to leverage successful projects that results in new business opportunities or increased customer retention within the Region.
• Ability to effectively manage and implement projects.
• Ability to advise Direct Reports on how to resolve conflict with mutually beneficial outcomes for customers.
Required qualifications:
• Grade A* – C GCSE (or equivalent) English Language and Mathematics
• HND / NVQ L4 or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering
