Our Consulting and Technology team in the hotseat

We’ve been talking to Brian Hinojosa who is an Account Manager for our Consulting and Technology team. We wanted to find out what recruitment trends he has been noticing recently;

When did you start working for Fuel Recruitment?

I started working for Fuel Recruitment back in November 2012, I am based in our London office and am a member of the original team who helped to set up the London branch. I work within Consulting where I specialise in Defence, Security and Public Sector space and also for our Technology department where the focus is on IT Service organisations.

What jobs have you found to be most in demand within Consulting and Technology for the start of 2015?

There has definitely been a huge demand for candidates with architectural skills including Technical, Enterprise, Business and high levels of clearance. Information Security candidates have been sought after, which isn’t surprising when you consider the amount of coverage this particular subject has received in the news recently.

What qualifications do these roles require candidates to have?

Architectural roles tend to prefer candidates with TOGAF qualifications as well as Prince2, Agile and ITIL experience. Information Security roles will require varying qualifications dependent on the work that needs to be carried out but typical qualifications include CISSP, CISM, CLAS and CREST.

How can prospective candidates make their CVs more attractive to you/the client?

In the consulting space, it is very important to highlight the personal achievements and roles you have carried out as well as team projects and deliverables. This will put you in good stead for being considered as a candidate who can produce results individually or as a part of a team. Likewise in the technology arena, it is really important to highlight all qualifications specific to the role you would like to be considered for, these will be essential requirements for these particular clients.
