Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Software Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Siemens PLC S7 & IDE, Structured Text (SCL) programming, and Serial and Modbus communication. The role involves designing, developing, testing, and documenting software solutions for various applications, particularly in the marine and defence sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain PLC software using Siemens PLC S7 & IDE.
• Program in Structured Text (SCL) for PLC applications.
• Implement Serial and Modbus communication protocols.

Essential Qualifications and Skills:

• Proven experience with Siemens PLC S7 & IDE.
• Proficiency in Structured Text (SCL) programming.
• Strong knowledge of Serial and Modbus communication protocols.

Desirable Skills:

• Experience with structured design methodologies.
• Familiarity with Siemens Open Libraries and Siemens Support site.
• Understanding of RS422 and marine communication protocols.
• Experience using GitHub and GIT version control systems.
• Proficient in JIRA for defect and task tracking.
• Knowledge of C language programming.
• Experience with HMI software development.
• Skilled in Ladder Logic and Function Block Programming.
• Ability to document software designs and test reports effectively.
• Experience in conducting unit testing of PLC routines.
• Knowledge of Safety Integrity Levels and their application in software.
• Understanding of PLC Input/Output electrical interfaces.

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Relevant certifications in PLC programming and automation are a plus.
