About Us: Our client is a leading manufacturer of electronics, control, and instrumentation systems for the Defence and Navy sectors. They are committed to delivering high-quality, reliable products and maintaining the highest standards of safety and security. We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Warehouse Operative to join their team.

Job Summary: The Warehouse Operative will be responsible for the efficient handling, storage, and dispatch of goods within the warehouse. This role requires a candidate with experience in forklifting, a valid forklift licence, and a clean driving licence due to occasional travel to other sites. As the role is within a regulated environment, the candidate must be British for required security checks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Efficiently and safely operate forklifts to load, unload, move, stack, and stage products and materials.
  • Conduct daily checks and maintenance on forklifts to ensure they are in good working condition.
  • Receive and inspect incoming goods for accuracy and damage, ensuring proper documentation is maintained.
  • Accurately pick, pack, and prepare orders for dispatch.
  • Maintain an organized and clean warehouse, adhering to health and safety regulations.
  • Assist in stock control, including stocktaking and inventory management.
  • Travel to other sites as required to support operational needs, ensuring safe and timely transportation of goods.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures, particularly in relation to safety and security.
  • Undertake any other duties as required by the Warehouse Manager.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Previous experience working in a warehouse environment is essential.
  • Valid forklift licence with demonstrated experience in forklifting.
  • Clean driving licence (category B).
  • Must be British due to required security checks for working in a regulated environment.
  • Good physical fitness, with the ability to lift heavy items and work on your feet for extended periods.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills and a positive, proactive attitude.
  • Basic computer skills for inventory management and record-keeping.
