Quantity Surveyor – Contract – Dublin – Hybrid (2 days onsite) – Up to €350 Per Day

Join our client who is a global telecommunications company working on some of the most exciting telecom projects across the world. They specialise in design, deployment and support services and their projects span 90+ countries.

Role and Responsibilities

The key responsibilities for the successful candidate will include:

  • Reviewing project scopes and design packages to determine structural deliverables, support and supplementary services.
  • Measurement of quantities on sites – walkout and conducting joint measures with contractor
  • Ensuring project works/sites are built within budget without quality being compromised and conducting where possible post implementation reviews with the project teams to maximise any commercial opportunity or advantage.
  • Manage the subcontractors contract obligations to ensure compliance 
  • Evaluate and approve subcontractor applications for payment 
  • Work with PM’s to manage the subcontractor variation account including evaluation and approval of subcontractor submitted variations 
  • Evaluate and approve back charges from/to Subcontractors 
  • Provide input into the production of:
    • Monthly commercial reports 
    • Applications for payment to the client
    • Contract claims
  • Report any commercial and contractual risks
  • Undertake additional commercial and contractual activities as required
  • Effectively communicate with the Project Manager/Director or the Commercial Director advising of any issues that may affect the cost, value or margin of projects
  • Be able to communicate Contract/Sub-Contract advice to site-based staff
  • Placement of subcontract orders to step down contractual terms and manage risk, including placement of ITT’s and ensuring notices and payment are made on time
  • Keeping accurate relevant records
  • Dealing with contractual disputes and ensuring payment notices are in place and in line with current legislation
  • Final Accounts –assessment of and timely submission of final accounts giving regular updates to the client to ensure expectations are aligned
  • Advise on and mitigate the effects of disputes – Recognise potential contractual issues on site and make good records including photographs and written statements to protect our interests.
  • Track stock usage against design bill of materials

  • A good understanding of building contracts terms and conditions, and their legal and operational mechanisms
  • Practical experience of turnkey construction projects


  • Degree/HND or HNC in Quantity Surveying or a similar commercial degree in construction
  • RICS membership preferred
  • CSCS or SafePass certified
  • A full clean driving licence


  • 1 to 3 years’ experience working with a main contractor
  • Commercial building projects/large scale civils projects
  • Knowledge of telecoms network / utilities deployment preferable
  • Demonstrates good commercial and business acumen
  • Excellent written and spoken English required
