Job Details

  • As a Junior Planner you will be expected to engage with and support the Sitec Fixed Line Planning Team by active involvement in understanding the methodology for the successful delivery of survey and design deliverables for clients such as Virgin Media, CityFibre and Openreach.
  • Working in a busy team environment, you will be provided with the training appropriate to enable you to become an active participant in the design production for the clients Fibre and HFC (Hybrid Fibre-Coax) network and MDU (Multi Dwelling Unit) design requirements nationwide.
  • Full on the job training and mentoring will follow an intensive classroom process where Senior Planners, Team Leads, Quality Controllers and Project Co-ordinators will instruct you through the survey and design process. Your work will be assessed by the senior planners who will provide feedback to you and updates to the Head of Fixed Line Survey & Planning who will then meet with you at regular intervals to discuss your progress and amend your training programme to suit your progress with a view to possible promotion to Planner after one year’s service dependant on your progress.

Reporting to a Planning Team Lead, your duties will include:

  • Attending site surveys with experienced Planning Team Members and being actively involved in developing a cost effective, aesthetically pleasing and technically correct solution to provide service to residential and/or commercial properties
  • Creating designs using survey information working to strict production deadlines and quality parameters with the support and guidance of senior planners
  • Understanding all Health & Safety considerations and threats taught to you and ensuring you apply them to your daily activities in the production of designs

You will be expected to:

  • Have a desire to learn and apply yourself to the team environment in order to maintain and develop the Sitec brand name within the industry
  • Have a ‘can-do’ attitude in an ever changing and fast paced industry where the ability to think on your feet and apply yourself is essential
  • Have the determination to progress within the Fixed Line Planning Team and further within the Telecommunications sector
  • Possible travel within the UK to other Sitec offices and to attend site surveys and build sites as well as occasional meetings with the client
  • Be polite and considerate in your daily work activities at all times when representing Sitec and our clients
  • Maintain all Health & safety policies as instructed to you and apply them to your daily activities
