Field Engineer – Permanent – Sefton – Up to £40,000 Per Annum (expenses covered)
We are seeking a skilled and adaptable Field Services Engineer to join our established client who work heavily within the public sector. This will sit in their dynamic Managed Services division. As the face of IT to our business user community, you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional service and maintaining our technological infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a key member of the Field Services team, representing ICT with professionalism and confidence at all levels of the organization.
- Ensure all work is completed to the highest standards, meeting agreed SLA and KPI targets.
- Provide expert support for Windows operating systems (Win10 and 11), Microsoft Virtual Desktop, Microsoft 365 stack, and Active Directory.
- Manage and maintain corporate standard hardware, including PCs, laptops, tablets, and mobile devices.
- Assist with office moves, fit-outs, and shutdowns, demonstrating flexibility and the ability to handle a heavy workload.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to corporate networks and infrastructure hardware.
- Foster collaborative relationships with stakeholders, both within the company and with external partners.
- Embrace and promote a culture of innovation and agility, actively seeking opportunities for improvement.
- Translate technical knowledge and solutions into easy-to-understand language for business users.
- Perform remote support for end users when possible.
- Manage diverse daily requirements in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications and Skills
- Proven experience in hardware support for various devices (laptops, desktops, tablets, printers, MFDs).
- Strong knowledge of Windows 10-11, Virtual Desktops, Active Directory, Antivirus, SCCM, InTune, and Microsoft 365.
- Experience in corporate network and infrastructure troubleshooting.
- Proficiency in supporting a wide range of desktop applications in a corporate environment.
- Familiarity with Windows deployment technologies and disk encryption software.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to manage work pressures effectively.
- Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Strong written and oral communication abilities.
- Keen attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work.
- ITIL V3 Foundation level certification (or equivalent) is advantageous.
- Understanding of asset management and IT equipment processes.
- Willingness to share expertise through mentoring and knowledge management.
- Passion for innovation and commitment to shaping the future of public services.
