Role: IT Manager
Location: West London
Salary: Up to £55,000

Job Purpose:
To achieve the department objectives in line with the corporate strategy and vision for which the job holder is directly responsible and continuously improves performance.

The role will look after the IT requirements of the businesses and the group’s central systems and controls as well as customer systems hosted by the company. The businesses employ 40 staff. The IT manager will additionally provide support to the Engineering department in matters related to customer projects where the IT skills beyond that of the systems engineers are required. The role will have some albeit limited customer interface.

As a technology company the IT systems are robust having been developed over a number of years with strong controls in place. As a small business this role is the sole IT professional in the business and therefore the candidate needs to have the ability to manage and deal with a wide range of IT requirements.

o    XP, Windows 10, Windows 11
o    Server 2012 to 2019

•    SaaS Applications
o    Datto RMM (Patching, remote access, etc)
o    Datto SaaS for 365
o    Access Cloud (FocalPoint, Dimensions)
o    Salesforce
o    Vipre Email Security
o    3CX Phone System

•    Domains/DNS/Website
o    Cloudflare Domain and DNS management
o    DMARC (DKIM/SPF)
o    WPMUDEV Website Hosting

•    Hardware/Networking
o    Physical maintenance and upgrades of end user and server hardware
o    Networked printers
o    UPS’
o    LAN/WLAN/WAN
o    Site-to-site VPNs
o    Sophos XGS, Cisco ASA, Teltonika, Robustel routers
o    Aruba Instant On, Cisco, Netgear switches
o    Ubiquiti Unifi wireless

•    Other
o    3CX Phone System
o    Number management portals (eg Intercity number management)
o    Mobiles and mobile connectivity
o    New starters and leavers
o    1st/2nd/3rd line support

Other Key Responsibilities:

1.    Management of external suppliers of hardware, software and support contracts for IT and telephony.

2.    IT accreditations sponsor – the individual will be the go-to person for GDPR, 27001, Cyber Essentials and various audits of IT required for the running of the Group.

3.    IT policies and procedures – the individual will be responsible for maintaining and enforcing IT policies and procedures and liaising with HR, health and safety and other departments to ensure that Group policies and procedures are documented, distributed, monitored and adhered to.

4.    Commercial projects – as and when required the individual will be involved in the specification and roll out of the IT aspects of the companies commercial communication solutions to its customers.

Competency: Skills/Knowledge/Qualifications:

The ideal candidate would have the following experience/ qualifications

Qualifications – ideally would like the candidate to have a broad range of IT certifications and degree level education.

Knowledge – the candidate is likely to have worked in a small company environment/MSP and have either been responsible previously for the provision of IT to the business or been a senior second in command the IT department. The candidate will need to have experience of the vast majority of the role requirements detailed above, especially in relation to the use of the hardware and software systems.

Experience – the candidate is expected to have leadership experience.

Inter-personnel skills – the candidate is expected to show an ability to communicate (both verbally and in writing) and work with staff at all levels.

•    Suggest areas for improvement in internal processes along with possible solutions.

Working Environment:

The role is based in Heathrow with limited travel to other locations. Normal hours of work are 9.00am – 17.00 with ½ hour lunch break and the post holder will be expected to work additional hours as required to meet the needs of the role.
