Job Details

The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, configuration, and commissioning of Radio Access Network (RAN) equipment.
This role requires a combination of technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a strong understanding of telecommunications systems. The ideal candidate will work independently and efficiently, ensuring high-quality deployment and support of RAN infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

  • Installation & Configuration:
    • Install and configure RAN equipment, including base stations, antennas, and associated hardware.
    • Perform system integration and ensure compatibility with existing network infrastructure.
  • Commissioning & Testing:
    • Conduct thorough testing and validation of installed RAN systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues encountered during the commissioning process.
  • Documentation & Reporting:
    • Maintain detailed records of installation processes, configurations, and test results.
    • Prepare and submit comprehensive reports on project status, issues, and resolutions.
  • Compliance & Safety:
    • Ensure all installation and commissioning activities adhere to safety standards and regulatory requirements.
    • Follow industry best practices and company procedures to maintain high-quality standards.
  • Technical Support:     
    • Provide on-site and remote technical support for RAN-related issues.
    • Assist with the development of technical documentation and training materials.
  • Collaboration:
    • Work closely with project managers, field engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
    • Communicate effectively with clients to address their needs and provide updates on project progress.

Qualifications:

  • Education:
    • Relevant qualifications or certifications in installation and commissioning or a related field. Practical experience can substitute for formal education.
  • Experience:
    • At least 3-5 years of experience in RAN installation and commissioning, preferably within the UK telecom sector.
    • Experience with RAN technologies such as LTE, 5G, and associated network equipment.
  • Skills:
    • Strong technical knowledge of RAN systems and network infrastructure.
    • Proficient in troubleshooting and problem-solving with RAN equipment.
    • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
    • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
    • Familiarity with relevant safety and regulatory standards
  • Certifications:
    • Relevant industry certifications (e.g., Huawei, Nokia, Ericsson) are advantageous.
  • Additional Requirements:
    • Willingness to travel within the UK as required by project needs.
    • Ability to work flexible hours and respond to on-call support as needed.
