Business Analyst – Permanent – West Midlands – Up to £40,000

The Software Development Business Analyst is the guardian of products involving the Software Development department. The Business Analyst collaborates with the entire development team to ensure that products are delivered successfully, within the Agile framework. He or she takes business requirements, prioritizes them according to the business’s needs and translates them into testable features to be worked on by the development team. He or she thus works closely with the Scrum Master to guarantee that the development team provides the product solution required in regular, iterative cycles and communicates progress to the business and, where applicable, to external clients clearly and consistently.

Key Responsibilities:
• Product Delivery
• Lead stakeholder engagement;
• Translate business needs into testable software features;
• Prioritize features based upon desired company outcomes;
• Facilitate technical workshops and training sessions alongside the Scrum Master;
• Liaise with the development team to ensure clear product deliverables;
• Maintain product literature and documentation within Confluence;
• Empower the development team to deliver the required product solution;
• Communicate progress to key stakeholders and external clients, where appropriate;
• Remove blockers inhibiting product progress;
• Evangelize Lean principles and Agile software development methodology throughout the business;
• Analyse performance of and the effect of delivered improvements.

• 2 years working with an Agile software delivery team
• Understanding of Test-Driven Development and Behaviour Driven Development
• Facilitating of Value Stream Mapping sessions
• Creating BPMN documentation
• Knowledge of the telecommunications industry
• Understanding of SQL
• User knowledge of Salesforce
• User knowledge of JIRA and Confluence
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organizational skills, including effective prioritization and execution of tasks under pressure
• Ability to deliver presentations
• Ability to challenge existing practices and processes
