Design & Quality Assurance Manager – Permanent – UK Wide

Job Purpose:
To lead and develop the Design Team and its supply base in delivering the Well Planned Cities underpinning High Level, Core and Low Level Network Designs.

Key Responsibilities:
• Drive continuous improvement across all facets of Well Planned Designs, encompassing High Level, Core and Primary Node design and planning pack production.
• Management and development of team of quality control planners.
• Ensure that the quality control workstack is aligned to that set out by the Production Control team
• Create and manage a quality improvement plan that spans the end to end design process
• Support driving a Right First Time culture across all facets of design working closely with Design Partners, Delivery Teams, PMO and Supply Chain Management to reduce non-value add cost of failure.

Knowledge & Experience:
Essential:
• 3 Years management / team leadership experience
• 6 Sigma / Kaizen practitioner
• Strong track record in delivering continuous improvement in a fast paced and complex workspace
• Excellent communication and influencing skills
• Expert level knowledge of FFN planning and architectures
• Problem solver that can think out of the box

Desirable:
• 3 years experience in a Telecommunications or Utilities quality assurance / improvement environment
• FTTH planning background

Qualifications:
• Degree level education (or >3 years Management Experience)
• Six Sigma Green/Black belt or equivalent
