Building on my clients current growth in the UK aerospace and defence market place, they are seeking an experienced communications field service technician with wide experience of communications systems for military and commercial customers, the primary role will be to support naval platforms. Must have strong analytical and technical skills in electronics supported by a professional qualification and approved apprenticeship and adept at interacting with customers and have good written communication and documentation skills Install, maintain and repair legacy/delivered military communication systems which will include visits to customer sites and various ship platforms within the UK and overseas t Create system test strategy development and validation, verification and test plan documentation in consultation with MCTA (STW & NWHT Documentation). Carry out the approval of subcontract test phases. Provide technical support to Sales and Marketing including generating information to support bids, technical presentations to customers, generation of product specifications and attendance at customer meetings Have the ability to work with varying levels of responsibility with good fault finding capabilities, must be motivated and efficient. Must be accustomed to setting personal and team goals and working under pressure to meet deadlines. Should have aspiration to work towards becoming project leader across a number of projects. The Field Service Technician role reports to the head of the UK Projects and Solutions group Knowledge in the following areas would be beneficial
Skills and Experience
Good understanding of fault finding TCP/IP Server Based System
Able to demonstrate a good working level knowledge of RF electronics, ideally within a Military HF/VHF/UHF environment. Digital Encrypted Radio, Protocols.
Naval C2 Systems
System Security and Encryption.
Naval System Engineering Processes.
Computer literacy (Windows, MS Office, VISIO).
