Installation Standards Design Manager

Job Title: Installation Standards Design Manager
Location: Quinton
Contract Type: Permanent
Sector: Telecommunications
Salary: £45,000

Role Profile:
•Define Installation Design Drawing/documentation
•Define Installation Quality Standards ensuring compliance against contractual and statutory obligations
•Produce Installation Designs (in conjunction with the CAD team) for all phases of all Transformation programmes
•Identify areas of engineering difficulty in the design pack, where applicable liaise with the installation team to produce a solution
•Manage and undertake installation design reviews to ensure that all designs meet project requirements
•Manage and obtain installation design approval

Typical Deliverables:
The candidate will be responsible for:

•Detailed installation drawings
•Support the technology / design team with product reviews and feedback
•Installation design packs
•Equipment lists and specifications
•Risk Assessments / Method Statements (RAMS) for all installation tasks
•Gold standard build documentation
•Engineering support to both design teams and installation teams.
•Identify areas for improvement in installation techniques to improve safety, quality and time.

Business Operations Skills – Experience:
Key skills
•Ability to describe complex solution simply in a non technical manner
•Excellent Communication Skills
•Resourceful with an innovative approach to problem solving
•Knowledge of the HE network and the standards and constraints around this.
•Strong engineering background with a safety bias towards design.

•Highways knowledge / Experience
•Ability to influence others and drive change.
•Experience in Installation Design and Project Engineering
• Project Management experience
