Job Overview
Some of what you will be doing will include:
• Leading a nationwide team of up to 9 mobilisation support resources, and a mobilisation co-ordinator, with the responsibility for the end to end contractor mobilisation “best practice” process, ensuring that every location starts on time, delivering predictable, sustainable, high quality output at Day One
• Ongoing development of the mobilisation gate process and setting the standards for consistent, scalable delivery
• Managing and supporting contractors and delivery teams during the mobilisation process, which starts with the initial contractor tender process, and completes with the first homes ready for service in each location
• Maintaining the operational plan, and reporting mobilisation status versus programme on all cities in the mobilisation phase, on a weekly basis
• Providing support and assistance to the mobilising contractors, ensuring that any interventions and additional support are provided in a timely manner to keep them on programme
• Coaching and supporting your team, and the contractor partners, to operate against a clearly defined and consistent set of standards and processes.
• Co-ordinating a “SWAT” team that can be deployed for short periods of time to coach and assist cities at critical phases of the mobilisation programme
• Producing and maintaining all mobilisation related documentation and standards, by capturing lessons learned and feeding back into the process on a regular basis, and making sure that the documentation, training and processes reflect latest knowledge and thinking
• Ensuring that all mobilisation information and documentation is published and readily available to all stakeholders who require it (Internal and external parties)
• Interfacing with appointed commercial property agents and the Local Authorities during the early engagement phase to identify potential depot sites for the build contractor
• Work closely with the Delivery teams, PMO, Training and Recruitment teams
• Escalating any risks / issues to the senior team that could impact on the mobilisation phase of the programme
To be successful in this role you’ll need:
• Extensive experience in telecoms and civils infrastructure construction, preferably in fibre installation
• Detailed working knowledge of processes, systems and industry standards relevant to installation of fibre
• Able to demonstrate working knowledge of the construction phase, from planning, noticing, permitting, design and on-site works
