Regional Planning Manager – Home Based – North UK

The regional Planning Manager is responsible for team leadership and co-ordination for all Planning activity within their geographic area of cover. Ultimate accountability for all design within an area sits with the post holder, including deliverables for all Planning portfolio items to the wider business. As part of the Planning Leadership community, the post holder may also be required to represent Planning on a National level, defining standards, architecture or facilitating business propositions to the Executive Team.

Key Responsibilities
• To lead and manage a team of Planners to deliver results in accordance with our values
• To coordinate all planning activities (internally and externally resourced) within geographic area
• To design and oversee design of agreed architectures to satisfy company and customer requirements
• To help develop, implement and champion the network topologies in accordance with the Well-Planned City concept
• To actively support data quality within the asset and customer management systems
• Recruit, develop and inspire future talent within the Planning career pathway

Knowledge & Experience
• Established Leader, with track record for driving and motivating large remote teams
• Management of design production on a large scale using in-house and outsourced teams
• Detailed understanding of all aspects of civils route planning
• Detailed understanding of all aspects of fibre planning
• Full understanding of UK local and national authority regulations in respect to civils engineering works
• Ability to understand, and produce where necessary, detailed industry-standard level of survey, installation and as-built documentation

• FTTP/FTTH methodologies and design
• Knowledge and understanding of lit fibre services
• Transmission basics
• Working knowledge of GE Smallworld

• NRSWA accreditation unit 2 (required), unit 10 (desirable)
• Full clean driving license
