From small wayleaving projects to large Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects (NSIP), we act on behalf of a variety of utility companies throughout the UK.
Working across the water, electricity, oil, gas and renewable sectors, we can advise on developing the land referencing methodology for consultation and the project acquisition strategy, along with project management, land referencing, acquisition and compulsory purchase services.
Our clients include National Grid, SSE, Scottish Power and Northern Power Grid, but we also work for banks, developers, private individuals and operators of energy projects.
You will have experience of securing consents on cable schemes. You will also have experience in liaising with Local Authorities, statutory bodies, customers, land agents, legal representatives and colleagues.
You will prepare consent documents and resolve any disputes with landowners and occupiers.
Excellent communication skills are essential and previous experience in technically complex projects would be highly advantageous.
There will be a requirement to work to tight timescales and provide first class customer service at all stages of the project; therefore, the ability to thrive under pressure is essential. It is also important that you have an eye on long term development and can identify and implement innovative and effective business improvements.
As well as strong negotiation and influencing skills, excellent written and oral communication, the ideal candidate will have knowledge of surveying, valuation and drawings.
You will also need an understanding of statutory and environmental constraints and have a willingness to develop into being fully conversant with the relevant legislation.
Being a member of the RICS would be advantageous.
