Coast to Coast cycling challenge smashes fundraising target

Fuel Recruitment’s team of (largely inexperienced) cyclists have completed their Coast to Coast cycling challenge, smashing their fundraising target along the way.

The group of 10 set off from Whitehaven on Friday to cycle the 56 miles to Penrith, then got back in the saddle on Saturday morning for the 46 miles to Stanhope, finishing on Sunday with the final 41 miles to Tynemouth.

Over the 3 days they pedaled for 143 miles, climbed 10,000 feet in altitude and miraculously only had to deal with one puncture!

The group were cycling to raise money for our four chosen charities for 2018: The Big Issue, Macmillan Cancer Support, Bliss and Warwickshire & Northamptonshire Air Ambulance.

Fundraising efforts have exceeded all expectations – the original target was £2500 and the total at the last count was £5,106.73!

Well done to the team and big thanks to everyone that’s donated.
