AllPoints Fibre Networks has announced a strategic partnership with Gamma to expand access to full-fibre connectivity for UK businesses. Unveiled at Gamma’s annual GX conference shortly after the launch of APFN’s aquila platform, this collaboration enables Gamma and its partners to offer thousands of Business Full Fibre and Ethernet connections.

Three UK has launched the nation’s first urban Open RAN deployment in Glasgow, installing over 50 small cells on existing street infrastructure like CCTV poles and lampposts. The project is supported by a £9.1 million grant from the UK’s Department for Science, Innovation and Technology, reflecting a broader ambition to have 35% of UK mobile traffic running over open and interoperable RAN architectures by 2030.This shift towards Open RAN technology has significant implications for telecoms recruitment. As operators like Three UK adopt more flexible, software-driven infrastructure, they need professionals who can implement, manage, and optimize these complex, interoperable networks.
