The Role
We are looking for a Commercial Assistant to support our growing commercial team. This role is ideal for someone with a strong foundation in commercial or contract administration, looking to grow within a dynamic and supportive environment.
You’ll work closely with senior commercial staff, helping manage contracts, track project costs, and assist in bid preparation. The role is based in Barnsley, and will be predominantly office-based to ensure close collaboration with the wider team.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with contract administration and documentation
  • Support cost tracking and reporting across multiple projects
  • Help prepare bid submissions and tender documentation
  • Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure compliance and value
  • Maintain commercial records and support audits
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of commercial processes

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience in a commercial, finance, or contract support role
  • Utilities or infrastructure sector experience is highly desirable
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
  • Positive, proactive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Strong communication skills and team spirit
