Design Authority

Design Authority – Permanent – UK-Based – Up to £360 Per Day (Outside IR35)

We are looking for a Design Authority to work for our client who is a leader in the telecommunications sector. This role is essential in managing customer design instructions and translating them into structured, compliant deliverables for project teams. You will be the primary liaison between the customer and internal project stakeholders, ensuring all designs meet regulatory, safety, and customer standards.

Responsibilities:

• Produce detailed design instructions, ensuring structural, electrical, and build feasibility.

• Review partner submissions and ensure compliance with client specifications.

• Act as the point of escalation for significant design variances.

• Oversee the full lifecycle of site design approval and handover documentation.

• Manage sub-contractors and monitor performance on time, cost, quality, and H&S metrics.

• Maintain and implement consistent technical, procedural, and H&S standards across departments.

• Coordinate with project teams to manage dependencies and deliver KPIs effectively.

Requirements:

• Degree in a relevant discipline; Project Management Accreditation desirable.

• Strong technical understanding of telecoms design standards.

• Proficiency in Cornerstone and dependency management.

• Solid knowledge of UK H&S regulations and design practices.

• Commercially astute with experience in customer-facing roles.

• Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills.

• Familiarity with MS Project or similar tools.
