Estimator – Permanent – Solihull – Up to £70,000 Per Annum + Benefits
We are looking for an experienced Estimator to work for our client, a leading construction organisation delivering major projects across the UK. This is a fantastic opportunity to join their specialist facades division, working on high-profile projects and contributing to their continued success.
The Role:
You will be responsible for preparing detailed cost estimates for façade construction projects, including cladding, curtain walls, insulation, glazing, and structural supports. This role involves reviewing architectural drawings, sourcing quotes from suppliers, performing quantity take-offs, and compiling competitive proposals. You will work closely with project managers, architects, and construction teams to ensure project alignment and budget expectations.
Responsibilities:

Review architectural drawings and specifications to assess scope and requirements.

Prepare detailed cost estimates for materials, labour, equipment, and subcontractor services.

Perform accurate quantity take-offs using estimation software and manual methods.

Source and manage supplier and subcontractor quotes, ensuring cost efficiency and quality.

Develop budgets for project phases, tracking and adjusting estimates as needed.

Compile and submit professional, competitive proposals to clients and stakeholders.

Identify potential project risks and incorporate contingencies into estimates.

Maintain clear records of all estimates and revisions.

Collaborate with project managers, architects, and construction teams on project specifications.
About You:

3+ years of experience in estimating façade or building envelope projects (commercial or industrial).

Experience in PCSA estimating is desirable.

Proficiency with estimation software (e.g., Bluebeam, On-Screen Take-off) and strong Excel skills.

Knowledge of façade materials including glass, metal, stone, and cladding systems.

Strong analytical and communication skills with attention to detail.

Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

Relevant certifications (AACE, PMI) preferred but not essential.

Familiarity with building codes, standards, and industry best practices.
