Estimator – Permanent – Romford – Up to £45,000 Per Annum + Benefits
We are looking for an experienced Estimator to work for our client, a leading construction organisation within their specialist fire protection division. This role offers the opportunity to work on high-profile projects nationwide, providing cost estimates for critical passive fire protection solutions.
The Role:
You will be responsible for preparing detailed cost estimates for passive fire protection works, including fire stopping, coatings, fire doors, and compartmentation systems. This involves analysing project drawings, tender documents, and specifications to produce accurate and competitive proposals. You will collaborate with project teams, suppliers, and clients to ensure projects meet safety regulations, budgets, and timelines.
Responsibilities:

• Prepare accurate cost estimates for passive fire protection works.
• Analyse drawings, specifications, and tender documents to determine costs.
• Develop competitive pricing strategies while ensuring profitability.
• Ensure compliance with fire safety regulations, building codes, and industry standards.
• Liaise with suppliers and manufacturers to source competitive pricing and specifications.
• Work closely with project managers, site teams, and clients to refine project scopes.
• Maintain accurate records of all estimates, tenders, and quotations.
• Attend pre- and post-tender meetings as required.
• Provide technical advice to clients on fire protection solutions.
• Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency.

About You:

• Proven experience in estimating within the passive fire protection industry or a related construction sector.
• Knowledge of fire safety regulations, building codes, and industry standards (e.g., BS 476, EN 1366, ASFP guidelines).
• Proficiency in reading construction drawings, specifications, and tender documents.
• Experience with estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, AutoCAD, Excel, or specialist tools).
• Strong numerical, analytical, and communication skills.
• A relevant qualification in construction, fire protection, or quantity surveying is desirable.
