Buyer (Contract)
As part of our continued growth, we’re expanding our procurement team and seeking a proactive, detail-oriented Buyer to support our dynamic organisation. This role plays a key part in ensuring projects are delivered on time and to specification, by sourcing the materials, components, and services that power innovative, high-tech solutions. You’ll work cross-functionally and with trusted suppliers to provide cost-effective procurement support that meets deadlines and upholds quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:

Manage day-to-day procurement priorities, safety practices, and scheduling, ensuring effective collaboration with key stakeholders

Process MRP demands and tactical purchase requisitions, evaluate supplier quotations, and raise purchase orders in line with internal procedures

Generate and analyse quotations from material demand data (including Bills of Materials) to support bids and procurement activities
-
Identify and implement opportunities to reduce supply chain costs through both tactical savings and long-term improvements

Build strong working relationships with suppliers to ensure consistent performance and value delivery

Collaborate with senior team members to streamline procurement processes and reduce operational inefficiencies

Support project teams and internal departments with centralised procurement services

Maintain clear, regular communication across business units within a fast-paced, adaptable working environment
Qualifications & Experience:
-
Prior experience in a junior buying or procurement role

Comfortable working with MRP and financial/accounting systems
-
Background in engineering, maritime, defence, or technical industries is advantageous

Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and able to use digital systems confidently
